Did you know that around 75% of Americans claim to have read at least one book in the past year, per pewresearch. Not to mention that’s not solely print but also audiobooks and ebooks. It’s pretty astonishing to see the amount of people who rarely read or don’t read at all. Many successful people are avid readers, some of the most notable are Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, and Mark Cuban. Per INC.com , Bill Gates reads on average 50 books per year, Warren Buffet devotes 80% of his day to reading claiming he reads 600-1000 pages per day, and Mark Cuban claims that he reads for 3 hours every day. There are two things that these gentleman have in common and that is they are all very rich and successful, and they all are avid readers.

After reading that first paragraph I hope you are now motivated to select the next book you will read as we deep dive into 5 Amazing Books for Money, Mentorship, and Millenials.

#1. Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki

If you are a new student to finance than this is a must read. As you continue your personal finance education, you will find that Rich Dad Poor Dad will be recommended to you time and time again. Robert Kiyosaki teaches you how to understand the basics of an asset and a liability. This book is written in a way that even a child could understand. Now thats not to say that these are simple concepts, however you must be able to understand them at a high level.

“Rich Dad Poor Dad” is a short easy read with just under 200 pages of text. After reading this you will have formed a strong foundation for the basics of business and investing.

#2. Set For Life by Scott Trench

I just recently read Set For Life and I must say its by far one of my favorites. Scott Trench is an extremely successful individual, who under thirty has become the CEO of BiggerPockets ,the cohost of The BiggerPockets Money Show, written his own book and is a successful real estate investor.

In Set For Life, Scott explains what it takes to become financially independent and provides you with a roadmap that will get you there. Scott deep dives into cutting cost, increasing income, budgeting, investing and so much more. Don’t be scared away if any of this sounds foreign, Scott does a phenomenal job explaining everything. If you are looking for a personal finance book that’s easy to understand and provides a proven strategy to reach financial independence, then this book is an absolute must read.

#3. Financial Freedom by Grant Sabatier

I first just want to say that Grant Sabatier is an inspiration, the first time I discovered Grant was listening to The BiggerPockets Money Show episode 58. After listening to Grant’s episode I was hooked, I subscribed to his blog and purchased his new book Financial Freedom. Grant provides great content on his blog and he inspired me to start blogging.

In Grant’s book, Financial Freedom, he talks about saving, side hustling, investing, increasing income, retirement and much more. Grant goes into detail on all the topics he writes about, he provides a number of charts and worksheets throughout the book for you to work. Grant also gives you access to some exclusive online tools that can help you reach financial freedom. If you are interested in expanding your financial knowledge and would like to retire early then you should definitely buy this book.

#4. Tribe of Mentors by Timothy Ferriss

Tribe of Mentors is a fantastic book that provides insight into the lives of some of the most successful individuals. In this book, Tim Ferriss interviews over 100 successful people and asks all of them similar questions that will give you an idea of things such as how they deal with stress, what they value, advice would they give to a college student about to enter the real world, what separates them from others and what books they recommend. Some notable individuals that Tim interviews are Ray Dalio, Ashton Kutcher, Steve Aoki, Gary Vaynerchuk, Terry Crews, Tim McGraw and so many more.

This book is great for someone who wants to learn and take advice from some of the most successful people across a wide landscape of industries. It is also a great read for someone who doesn’t like to sit down and read for a long time since it is written in short interviews that are sometimes only a page long. I would recommend reading this book to anyone who aspires to be successful in any field of interest, as you will take away valuable lessons and actionable advice.

#5. Never Split the Difference by Christopher Voss

Chris Voss is a former FBI hostage negotiator. In this book he teaches you the tactics he used on the job in high stakes situations. Chris reflects on specific moments in his FBI career when he implemented different strategies and ultimately saved many lives in the process. While telling you these stories he is also teaching you how to negotiate to get the results you desire.

The negotiating strategies that you will learn will provide you with the confidence and knowledge that you need to be successful. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone, even if your not in sales or business. The ability to negotiate effectively is a priceless tool to add to your skillset.
